A performance about courage, connection and building a common future
Five people reach a place. Where they come from and what drives them away is not known – but the abyss in front of them is real. An incomplete wooden construction, a seemingly insurmountable obstacle, isn’t it? They can only move forward if they combine their strengths and act together.
In the midst of artistry, theater and installation, a unique performance is created about both the physical construction of a bridge and the art of togetherness.
The bodies of the performers become tools of cooperation – with the help of partner acrobatics, slack and vertical rope, they not only create a twelve-metre-long bridge, but also show how even a few people can change the realities of life through a strong vision, courage and will and create a new path.
In a time when walls are being built again and bridges are being torn down, Cirque on Edge’s piece “A way” deals with the conditions, resistance and opportunities of establishing contact.
The wooden bridge is not just an object, but a message. It grows out of the will to approach each other – against resistance, across chasms. A fragile utopia that will only become reality if we carry it together.

Technische Anforderungen
6 m freie Höhe, 16 m x 2m freie Fläche, davon müssen die jeweils äußeren 3 m x 2 m fester (nicht zwingend ebener) Untergrund sein.

Wetter
Einzelne Regenschauer mit längeren trockenen Momenten sind kein Problem. Bei länger andauerndem Regen muss die Brücke abgedeckt werden. Während der Installation beobachten wir das Regenradar, und entscheiden in Rücksprache mit Ihnen das Vorgehen.
Je nach gewünschtem Performanceumfang, entscheiden wir gemeinsam mit Ihnen, im Sinne der Sicherheit, was bei der gegebenen Wettersituation möglich ist.
